I'm the Computer Science/STEM Coordinator in Aldine ISD, in Houston, Texas. I'm an enthusiastic lifelong learner and educator that believes that children learn best by being creative, innovative little free spirits! While in the classroom, I primarily taught 4th grade students, and my ultimate goal is “to continue to provide students with endless opportunities to explore and learn creatively BEYOND the walls of a classroom!”
This is my sixth year being apart of the instructional technology department but has successfully helped hundreds of educators created blended learning experiences throughout all of our title one schools in Aldine ISD. As a former Teacher of the Year, I LOVE integrating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) into the lives of every learner.
As a Computer Science/STEM Coordinator I continue to learn and collaborate with other educators through my global PLN (via Google+, VOXER and Twitter) where I advocate for more Computational Thinking, Art and Technology integration opportunities for minority students in urban schools and communities. I truly believe that Computer Science, Art and Technology integration is the key to helping children express their understanding of concepts within my classroom. Creatively educating students utilizing STEAM is my ultimate goal, which will help all students become successful 21st century learners.
